| Digital Enigma | Mal lay on the beach, letting the waves wash over his slight frame. He'd over-exerted himself far too soon. He could feel the other three in his head pushing to get out. Well, three wasn't exactly right. Mal's original consiousness had split in half in an attempt to keep himself sane, making the crazy part a consiousness of it's own. Besides, the new one wasn't exactly new. He'd been hiding inside for a while, ever since Mal's sire returned to the city. The others followed suit every time Mal expirenced something emotionally unsettling. Each of them had their own agenda. None of them saw the larger picture. He became tired of more arrivals in the head. He struggled to keep them all down. Original Mal: Give me back my body. New Mal: No. Original Mal: It doesn't belong to you. New Mal: It does now. Hima: I want ramen! Original Mal: Hima, this isn't the time Crazy Mal: Donuts! Original Mal: You, pipe down back there. New Mal: What are you going to do, turn this car around? You can't even push me out of the way to gain control of yourself Original Mal: ......... New Mal: Don't worry, I'll make sure you get into the coven. After all, it will only further my own plans. Original Mal: Why me? New Mal: Because i liked your form and your powers. I can take you so much farther than you could have gone on your own... Original Mal: Take me farther? All I wanted was a family, somewhere to belong. New Mal: And you will have that, and so much more. You will have what you forgot. Original Mal: What I forgot? New Mal: Yes. Remember you wanted power and control over the city? Original Mal: There is no way for me to wrestle power from the Coven. New Mal: Sure there is, leave it to me. Original Mal: You'll get us both killed. New Mal: No I won't. Now behave or i'll shove you into the Madness Network to float aimlessly untill you can find a body. Original Mal: Is that what happened to Hima? New Mal: No. She wasn't able to grasp the fact that she had been turned, so she fled her own mind to the only place she could. She ended up here when she saw an opening. You really need to control your emotions better Mal. They will cause you more problems than splitting your consiousness. Original Mal: So what do we call you? New Mal: You call me what you call yourself, for now I am you. Original Mal: What about us in here? New Mal: So long as you don't cause me too much trouble i'll let you stay. I'd hoped to stay hidden untill the last possible moment, but your emotional issues needed me to act early. Hima: I am not an emotional issue! Crazy Mal: Pooper Scooper! Original Mal: Seems I have no choice. New Mal: That's right. Oh, if you're going to try anything, make sure it works. I won't let you stick around to try again. Night kids. Hima: Night night! Crazy Mal: Someone cuddle me. Original Mal: .......... Mal fell asleep with the waves washing over him like a cooling blanket. This new body produced heat, something he hadn't been accustomed to in years.
