| Ludvig | In a city that always seemed to buzz with gossip, heated whispers, gunshots and the unholy cries of those who were on the receiving end of blades and bullets the silence of the abbandoned lands he traveled trough irritated him. Nagging like a musquito that got caught beneath your sheets. Ludvig sighed. Not a single word. Nothing had he left behind to announce his departure. He didn`t like to say goodbye and from what he had heared, he probably wouldn`t make it back. Slightly nervous his hand slips backward to check the gun that was strapped to his back before traveling down to the knife that he had stuck beneath his belt. As his finger rakes along the sharp blade a thin red line followed across it`s skin, a few crimsom drops falling to the earth. Upon contact with the ground the moist imidiatly went up in thin air , leaving nothing but small dark marks in the ashes that once was his home. " Gone.." he murmered to himself, his voice hoarse from not haven spoken in weeks. Suddenly he turned around, dark orbs rapidly shooting from side to side. He was sure of it. Another sound but his voice had disturbed the peace of the coaled bodies in their coffins of still smothering bricks and wood. "Vho is zere?" he said, softly at first but when no reaction came he repeated it, his voice raised to a roaring growl " Vho is zere?" Upon the aggigated sound a soft cry was heared from within one of the burned houses. Ludvig lowered his hand as it had snapped up to his gun again, and in a few steps made his way over to the door. OR at least what was left of it. With a firm tug he yanked the blackened wood aside. Slowly his eyes adjusted to see the contours of a woman curled up in a corner of the builcing, clutching something to her chest. The voice that came to the person in the shadows sounded shakey, powerless like that of a woman of old age. " Ludvig?" She leaned forward to reveal a pair of grey eyes, lying deep withing the wrinkled face, sunken cheecks giving her an almost skeleton-like appearance. But Ludvig knew, by that single word, that one look..."Babička Ivana" he mumbled, in instand turning into the shy, clumsy boy he had been when he was living here. Ivana was not really his grandmother, nor was she anyone elses. The woman that had already been old when Ludvig was born, was a childless widow that had slowly become the grandmother of the village. The adults greeted her with respect and the childeren loved her for her kind words and never ending supply of candy. She reached a hand out to him, a finger, deformed by artrosis crooked in a beckoning gesture. Ludvig walked over and only now saw the source of the soft cries. Cradled in her arms there was a child, a girl, tears streaming down from her bright blue eyes leaving traces across her smudged fair skin surrounded the very same dark strands Ludvig posessed. After a long moment of silence the female opened her thinned lips and said: "Zis is Anezka, she is your sestra, sister" The young wolf knelt down and reached out a finger of his own to sweep it across the child`s frail forehead " And...matka...tatíček?" Sadly the old woman shook her head. Ludvig nodded. He felt...empty. No sadness, but no happyness either. Just an all consuming emptyness. All the hate that he had felt against his abbusive father and passive mother just melted into the blackness of the void that was growing inside of him. But Ivana`s voice quickly brought him back to the presence. "Lovci!" And she was right. The hunters were coming, their blind hatred so great that they would slaughter an old woman and a baby without remorse. Ivana painfully managed to stand up, her back arched so she was permanently bended over somewhat. As quick as her aged body would let her she handed Anezka over to Ludvig " Go, don`t vorry about me, I yem dyingk Lud...ano..I yem dyingk.." She shook her head again" It`s enough" She was tired, all the years on the face of earth had worn her out. Doubtfully Ludvig glanced back before he pressed a kiss on the female`s forehead " Na sledanou" he murmered, knowing it was their last goodbye. With the baby in his arms he made his way out of the ruin and ran. Ran like the first time he had fled the time, but this time he was not running from his family.
