-What is CoLA? CoLA is the City of Lost Angel's, it is a Dark Role Play simulator in the world of Second Life, CoLA is currently located on Lost Angels' island in the Second Life world. -What is Second Life? Second Life is a massively multi-player online simulation. It allows users to do almost anything to the limits of their creativity and imagination. -Who created CoLA? Suzanna Soyinka created CoLA and much of the game concept used in the simulator. It has been heavily popular and has been augmented and enhanced heavily by the ideas and input of players and administrative staff alike. CoLA was the very first Dark RP/Sex/Combat sim in Second Life and is generally only rivaled by Midian City for overall popularity. -What can I do in CoLA? Anything you like really, within some fairly liberal rules. CoLA is built around the concept of free form roleplay in a limited structure. While in this atmosphere its very easy to make yourself out as an omni-potent god/goddess, Suzanna Soyinka and Jora Welesa have devised a system to limit this kind of play called the Community (previously COLA) Combat System, which defines the abilities and powers of a character within a level based system. -What is the CCS? CCS is the Community Combat System, it is a highly complex piece of LSL/SQL hybrid software developed to give CoLA its own mini-MMO style of game play. Previously known as the COLA Combat System before it expanded beyond the city's borders. -Who made CCS? Jora Welesa is the primary programmer for the CCS project and has been a major force in taking SL based RPG gaming to the next level. Jora coded the bulk of the CCS system and the entire CCS back end database from scratch. Suzanna Soyinka created the game concept and does the primary conceptual, graphic and 3D design for the CCS system as well as helping Jora with the LSL scripting side of the system. -Is sex allowed in CoLA? By all means....we are an adult community and players agree they are over the age of 18 when the enter. But unlike most "sex" communities, CoLA isn't just a collection of bad animation balls. Its a highly complex and graphically rich build designed to support roleplay first. Sex is the spice. -Can I kill people? Be killed? How safe am I? CoLA is completely safe to the outside observer, all weaponry is set to non-hostile safe zone damage settings and combat is only allowed between patrons using the CCS system. To fight, you must get the Community Combat System, its a free system and can be picked up in the shop just to the right of the subway exit as you enter the city. Once you are wearing CCS, all bets are off, your safety is largely based on your own conduct, people that aren't running around flashing guns and being a nuisance aren't generally fired upon....but even then, nothing is guaranteed. -Wow this is really cool! How do I join? The City of Lost Angel's is based entirely in Second Life at this time, to be a part of it you must have a account with Second Life, registration for Second Life is totally free, so whats stopping you? To join CoLA, you can start out by looking up the City of Lost Angel's main group in Search>Places, and join that group by clicking the Join button. Membership in the CoLA main group is open enrollment and its the best place to get started as a citizen of the community. -Who do I go to for help? The staff in CoLA are here to help you! In addition to Factional coordinators and contacts, the list of names that follows are GMs and Administrators for the City of Lost Angels and it's subsidiaries that you may contact for assistance: She Juniper Renee Dapto Karoline Merlin Umphrey Sachs Stormy Wilde -Can I rent shop space? Shop space is available in Angel's Respite at no cost for active members of the COLA community though prims are limited. So low prim and well scripted vendors are preferred. Interested members need to contact Suzanna for details. Premiere designers in Second Life may contact Suzanna for consideration for private shop space within the confines of the city. No other stores are planned at this time. -Are there jobs available in COLA? *Stripper/Dancer: If you're a dancer and wish to dance in our club, it is tip work only, the jars work on an 80/20 split, you get the largest part and Suz get a small amount from it to help with purchases for the build. Contact Suzanna Soyinka, Wendy Scalia or She Juniper for an invite to the dancers/strippers group. *Hookers: can work the sim but it must be ROLEPLAYED realistic. Lost Angel's is not the kind of place you find a girl that charges 1000L per half hour. Keep your prices between 25L and 200L and Suz will not have a problem with you turning tricks in the sim. The City does not take any percentage of money generated by turning tricks. But also...hookers MUST be willing to participate in free sex based roleplay if it occurs...charging a rapist for your services won't be occurring...period. In addition, some factions and organizations within the City of Lost Angels may be hiring for the aforementioned jobs within their territories or "bases". DJ's: if you are interested in a COLA radio DJ slot, contact Stormy Wilde or Rowan Valentine |
